Jakarta Empowerment, Children Protection, and Population Control (PPAPP) Agency continues to socialize people about preventing violence against women and children amidst COVID-19 pandemic.
This socialization is expected not only to educate participants, but also increase their awareness to take concrete action in preventing violence acts
Jakarta PPAPP Agency Head, Tuty Kusumawati mentioned, children and women are not only categorized as a vulnerable group of COVID-19, but also vulnerable to be target of violence during the pandemic.

Related to this issue, Jakarta PPAPP Agency involved 545 schools and madrasah in DKI Jakarta to socialize students about violence against children in schools and ways to prevent it via WhatsApp or e-mail.
"We also uses Jakarta Education Agency's information channels to socialize it," she added, Monday (6/29).
According to her, this socialization also involved schools coordinated under Religion Ministry. Digital material was distributed through social media groups which managed by those schools.
"Furthermore, we also ensure to do tiered online monitoring in those schools," she said.
Not only socializing about preventing violence against children in schools, but her side also carried out virtual socialization through seminar website that can be watched from Jakarta PPAPP Agency's Youtube and Facebook. Until now, that program has been watched by 1,779 people.
She assessed, the usage of Internet of Things (IoT) in distributing information can be an effective way during the pandemic, because it can reach more people, not only from Jakarta, but also from outside of Jakarta.
"This socialization is expected not only to educate participants, but also increase their awareness to take concrete action in preventing violence acts against women and children that happen around them," she asserted.
